Snow chaos may delay exam sittings

Students taking Maths module exams next week will face a long wait if the snow prevents them from getting to the exam. Exam boards say that the exams cannot be rescheduled. If students miss their sittings, they will need to wait until the next available session, some months down the line. Full article from Times Online here.

AQA’s statement on the issue says “We appreciate that some of you may be concerned about taking your exam if your school/college has been affected by the recent severe weather.  We would like to reassure you that guidance has been published by awarding bodies to ensure that all students are treated fairly and that you are not disadvantaged.  You should check with your own school or college for the latest advice on attending your exams.

We recommend you consider the local advice about travel before setting off for your school/college and to leave as much time as possible for your journey. Let your school/college know if you are going to be late but are on your way. Talk to your school/college if you are unable to travel, they will know what to do.”

That is most likely the final position on the matter, but you can keep an eye on any further developments here.
